2. OIP (Oil-Impregnated Paper) Bushings

Have paper soaked in oil inside. The oil gives good insulation and cooling, but sometimes oil leakage can be a problem.

3. RIP (Resin-Impregnated Paper) Bushings

Do not use oil. They are dry-type, lighter, safer, and give very strong insulation. Commonly used in high-voltage transformers.

4. Composite (Polymer/Silicone) Bushings

Made from polymer or silicone, very light and water-repellent. They work better than porcelain in polluted or rainy areas.

5. Cast Epoxy Bushings

Made of solid epoxy resin. They are strong and suitable for medium-voltage transformers.

6. Solid Bushings

Simple design with a conductor inside a solid insulator. They are affordable and used in low or medium-voltage systems.

Bushings are installed in almost every type:

1. Power Plants

Used to connect generators to big transformers so electricity can be sent to the grid.

Help connect transformers and busbars to manage and route power properly.
